Who we are

We, the Movement Educators Consortium, a group of U.S.-based social justice training and capacity-building organizations from across the country, have come together to share resources, approaches, and assessments with each other. We have been talking about organizing conditions after the election and have an assessment of what some of the post-election scenarios might be and what resources organizers and their organizations will need.

We’re created this site for three reasons:

  1. To get your feedback on our assessment: Is there a scenario your organization is planning for that we’re not thinking about? Do the trainings and resources our organizations plan to offer meet the needs you anticipate having? If not, what’s missing?

  2. To offer reflective prompts for strengthening our organizations and movements regardless of election outcomes

  3. To provide resources that you can use now and post-election, including current or upcoming offerings from a range of training & capacity building organizations.

Under any scenarios, we see a need for movement organizations to grow skills in:

  • Rapid response mobilization

  • Strengthen direct action practices

  • Increase digital security

  • Develop resilience and de-escalation practices

  • Continue long-term base building and organizing

We have put together some prompting questions, information about training & capacity building organizations that could meet some of these needs, and tools for scenario planning.

Let us know what we’re missing and if you have other resources to share.
